DESCRIPTION
Produced since 1991 on the CastelGiocondo estate, Lamaione is an elegant Tuscan Merlot with great structure and great balance at the same time. In this corner of Tuscany, Merlot has found a perfect union with a terroir consistent in terms of climate, exposure and soil, expressing a strong and structured character and an elegant complexity.
ESTATE CASTEL GIOCONDO-MONTALCINO (SI)
The great work done in the vineyard in the months preceding the harvest has delivered perfectly healthy and ripe grapes. The grapes harvested by hand in boxes and carefully selected, were transported to the cellar, where the destemming was followed by the manual selection of the berries.The fermentation took place in steel tanks at a temperature of 28-30 ° C, with a maceration on the skins for about 3 weeks.
The wine is aged for 24 months in 80% new French oak barriques, followed by a further 12 months refinement in the bottle.
Lamaione 2014 has an intense ruby red color, with aromas of red and black fruits. Black cherry, cherry, raspberry and currant combined with spicy notes of vanilla and black pepper, make up a decidedly broad and complex bouquet. Its taste is extremely elegant and balanced. The fresh attack with great character, well integrated by soft and smooth tannins, then leaves a vibrant and persistent finish.
HOW TO SERVE
18-20 ° C
It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least one or two hours before serving it.
Over 10 years if stored properly.
A bottle that goes very well with meat main courses, especially with those characterized by long cooking: try it with a braised meat or stew.
