DESCRIPTION
Since 1300 the Tenuta Castiglioni has been the emblem of the wine tradition of the Frescobaldi family. Here began the production of wines linked to the Tuscan territory, appreciated in 1500 at the Papal Court and at the English Court of Henry VIII.
ESTATE CASTIGLIONI - MUNICIPALITY OF MONTESPERTOLI (FI)
The grapes, as soon as they were harvested, were de-stemmed and fermented with light and constant pumping over in thermo-regulated steel tanks. Once the alcoholic fermentation was over, the malolactic fermentation took place.
Barriques - 12 months in barriques and 2 in bottle.
The color is a very intense and deep ruby red. The bouquet is intriguing and varied and combines aromas of black currant and cherry with spicy hints of black pepper and vanilla. The entry into the mouth is full-bodied and enveloping, characterized by elegant toasted notes that create an intense and harmonious finish.

It can rest in the cellar for 5-7 years
It goes well with game dishes, such as hare and wild boar, stewed or sautéed beef, roasts where the pig is the protagonist. Also good on tasty cheeses.
