DESCRIPTION
It comes from a very rigorous selection of only Sangiovese grapes in the vineyard, where all the characteristics necessary to enhance this ancient vine are scrupulously respected: the ideal altitude, the draining soils and the southwest exposure. It is a wine of great structure, elegant, balanced, with intense aromas and great finesse.
ESTATE CASTEL GIOCONDO-MONTALCINO (SI)
The careful care placed in the vineyard, together with the typical characteristics of this unmistakable terroir, have led to a beautiful harvest. The Sangiovese grapes were harvested by hand and once arrived in the cellar, subjected to a scrupulous selection. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with frequent pumping over especially during the first stages.
The wine was then subjected to aging in wood, where it was able to mature, refine and balance itself. CastelGiocondo Brunello is ready for release on the market 5 years after the harvest and only after further refinement in the bottle.
The sense of sight is what is first satisfied. CastelGiocondo 2014 immediately shows an intense and brilliant ruby red color. On the nose the fruity notes predominate, ranging from raspberry to currant, with vague hints of blueberry; the elegant floral note that emerges after a few moments is tingling and surprising: unmistakable hints of violet. Leaving it open, the spicy and tertiary notes due to long aging are released. Cinnamon, pepper, leather chase each other and on the finish, to remind us of its extreme elegance, a balsamic tip.In the mouth it totally envelops and impresses with its harmony, its dense tannic texture and mineral sensation. The finish is long and persistent.
