DESCRIPTION
For the production of this immediate and harmonious red, Elena Walch wanted to re-propose the terroir conditions of the Bordeaux area, with vineyards with clayey soils but well drained by the presence of sands and pebbles, very sunny and at rather low altitudes. The adaptation of Merlot to the pedoclimatic environment of South Tyrol gives a fresh and fragrant expression of the noble Bordeaux grape. The refinement of several months in Slavonian oak completes the harmonization of the tannins, rounding off the taste of a very characteristic red.
Vigna Kastelaz LOCALITY CALDARO (BZ)
Long contact with the skins for a period of 10 days. Slow fermentation at controlled temperature in steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows in 80hl French and Slavonian oak barrels.
Aging in large oak barrels.
A lively garnet red characterizes Elena Walch's Merlot. The wine has an intense and refined nose, with fruity notes of wild berries, spicy aromas and a hint of chocolate. Captivating tannins, a decisive structure together with body and elegance are released in the mouth, ending in a very pleasant drink that emphasizes the softness and flavor of the wine.
