TIGNANELLO ESTATE, San Casciano in Val di Pesa (FI)
The climatic trend of the 2017 harvest required a great deal of attention both in the vineyard during the harvesting operations, and in the cellar when the grapes arrived, where the selection and the first processing were essential to achieve an optimal final result. During the fermentation process in truncated cone tanks, the musts were macerated with extreme attention to maintaining the aromas, extracting the color and managing the sweetness and elegance of the tannins. The racking took place only after careful and daily tastings. The aging process took place in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly second passage, for a total period of approximately 14-16 months; after an initial period of aging in separate batches, these were assembled to complete the evolution in wood. The wine, mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and a small part of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged for a further 12 months in the bottle before being presented on the market.
Intense ruby ​​red in color, Tignanello 2017 strikes the nose for its complexity. Notes of ripe red fruit such as cherries in alcohol, black cherry, raspberry and plum alternate with delicate spicy hints of clove and licorice; sweet balsamic sensations of mint and chocolate complete the complex bouquet. On the palate it is rich, enveloping and vibrant with soft and velvety tannins. The aftertaste is persistent along the finish, where the notes perceived on the nose return.

18-20 ° C

It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least two hours before serving.
You can cellar it for over 25 years if kept correctly.
