DESCRIPTION
The Venezia Giulia Chardonnay by Attems is born in the vineyards located in the Collio area and in the alluvial area of the Isonzo, on the hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, which are harvested by hand towards the second half of September.
Areas located between the plains and the slopes of the province of Gorizia, Capriva del Friuli (GO)
the grapes, harvested at dawn, are pressed whole in the press, with the utmost delicacy. The free-run must that we obtain is clarified with a static decantation for 48 hours. Then follows the alcoholic fermentation which takes place for 45% in egg-shaped concrete tanks, exclusively dedicated to this wine, and for 55% in barriques and tonneaux. These will be the containers in which the Cicinis will refine, enriching itself thanks to the permanence on the total lees, up to the preparation of the wine for bottling.
12 months, of which 2 in bottle, in French and American barriques, 50% new and 50% first passage.
the color is a very elegant pale yellow, pale, with beautiful green reflections, the scent is immediately energetic, with sensations of thyme, nettle and the classic sage leaf. This is followed by a wave of broom and elder flowers that take over the delicate, sweetly spiced background of vanilla and ginger. On the palate the wine gives us an enveloping flavor with fresh lashes of citrus and tomato leaves. The finish is dense, long, typical of the best whites that come from Ponca del Collio.

CELLAR
Attems: a name that evokes the history of ** wine in Friuli Venezia Giulia **. In fact, the first document attesting the possessions of lands suitable for viticulture in Collio by the Attems dynasty dates back to 1106 and the production of [Ribolla Gialla] and Refosco is recorded in the ledgers of 1764.
A millenary tradition that has made this company the point of reference in the territory and which has seen Count Douglas Attems as a protagonist: he deserves the credit for having founded, in 1964, the Consorzio dei Vini del Collio, third in order of time in Italy and first in Friuli. Learn more
