DESCRIPTION
The label of "Montessu", with its spiral glyphs, recalls the engravings present in the pre-Nuragic necropolis from which the wine takes its name. A complex wine from a territory with a deep tradition.
The grapes come from the 170 hectares of vineyards owned by the winery, characterized by soils, rich in clay, sand and limestone, and immersed in a generally hot microclimate, arid in summer and mild in winter.
The must ferments with the skins at a temperature between 25 and 30 ° C. the entire mass is subjected to periodic pumping over which facilitate the passage into solution of the compounds present in the marc. The malolactic fermentation confers characteristics of softness to the wine.
The wine is aged in French oak barriques for about 15 months.
Color: intense ruby red. Bouquet: intense fruity aroma with a liquorice finish. Taste: elegant wine that maintains a good volume in the mouth. Full taste that develops notes of salinity and softness with prevailing fruity sensations on elegant aromas of caper, rosemary and pepper. Velvety finish.

AgriPunica, one of the most promising names in wine production… is a joint-venture between the Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Group, the Cantina di Santadi, Antonello Pilloni president of the winery and the legendary Tuscan winemaker Giacomo Tachis. It was the latter who thought of Sardinia and convinced everyone that they could produce a fantastic wine from grapes grown in Sulcis. In 2002, AgriPunica buys a company consisting of two estates: Barrua and Narcao, located in the south-western area of Sardinia, in an area known as Basso Sulcis. Everyone knew what this land was capable of and after the first harvest they all agreed in affirming…… it will be an amazing wine! Read more
