With nearly 1.000 years of family history linked to wine, the winery Attems in Friuli-Venezia Giulia it is exceptional. Despite the long tradition, however, the wines convince above all with a light freshness and a young and modern approach.
The origin of the winemaking tradition in the Attems House of Counts dates back to 1106, when Konrad de Attems received the land as a gift from the Bishop of Salzburg. Viticulture was already practiced at that time. Commercial wine production in the lands near Gorizia did not begin until 1935, when Douglas Attems inherited the farm and brought a new understanding of quality by opening the market.
