TIGNANELLO ESTATE, San Casciano in Val di Pesa (FI)
The seasonal trend, especially during the summer, has required an intense and careful selection of the grapes, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. This careful selection made it possible to give added value to the Tignanello grapes which, already unique in themselves for their typicality and their attitude, have produced wines of great character and structure. During fermentation and maceration in the truncated cone tanks, the musts were vinified with extreme attention to the freshness of the aromas, the extraction of color and the management of the tannin aimed at sweetness and elegance. Once the skins were separated from the wine, malolactic fermentation was started in barriques, thus enhancing the finesse and pleasantness of the aromas.
The aging process then began which lasted approximately 12-14 months, in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly from the first passage; during this period the different batches, vinified separately according to the variety, are raised in wood and then assembled a few months before bottling.
Tignanello 2006, at the time of its introduction on the market, has a very intense ruby ​​red color and fragrant notes of ripe red fruit and spices that express themselves on the nose with good balance. In the mouth it is rich, full and round, dense at the right point without masking the great elegance that distinguishes it and its complexity. It is a powerful wine, but fine and very pleasant to drink, with a good persistence and a dense aftertaste of chocolate and citrus notes. The tannin, sweet and velvety, is very present and this, together with the well balanced acidic level, ensures a great longevity to Tignanello.

HOW TO SERVE

18-20 ° C

It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least two hours before serving.
You can cellar it for over 25 years if kept correctly.
Tignanello 2012 has a very intense ruby ​​red color, with violet reflections. The nose is powerful and complex, with spicy notes mixed with red fruit, smoky and balsamic notes; notes of cherry, plum, licorice and rosemary are also perceived. It is very elegant, it fills the palate with great volume and excellent tannic balance. From the persistent finish, with spicy and fruity notes that blend well with the notes of wood.
