DESCRIPTION
The history of this wine is intertwined with the ancient Venetian cult of the goddess reitia, linked to fertility, prosperity and abundance, elements that recall the soft, elegant and generous style of Amarone Rhetico. The path in different types of barriques characterizes its fruity complexity.
San Pietro in Cariano (VR)
It starts with a manual harvest, with an adjoining selection of the single bunch, of Corvina Veronese and Rondinella grapes, bunches that undergo a 10-day drying in the company fruit cellars to extract as much sugar as possible from the grape. Traditional fermentation in steel and wood follows.
A further 2 months of bottle aging complete the whole and, only at that point, this Amarone is put on the market.
Intense ruby red color with orange edging, envelops the nose with greedy notes of chocolate and vanilla, toasted hazelnut and raisins, aromas of coffee and candied orange peel. The taste expresses the concept of 'gustatory volume', it develops between softness, alcohol, body and silky tannin, with an infinite finish of dried plum.

In almost half a century of activity, the Bolla family exported Veronese wines to dozens of markets already immediately after the war. On April 13, 1953, on the occasion of Alberto Bolla's 1950th birthday, his children and grandchildren surprised his grandfather by bottling his favorite wine with a special label: Amarone Bolla Riserva del Nonno, vintage XNUMX. It was from this happy intuition that luck began of Amarone, the current icon of Valpolicella excellence: the Bolla brothers were the first to market it. Read more
