DESCRIPTION
“The name originates from the fact that on this land they had naturally found the ideal conditions to develop some chestnut trees, which also gave rise to the toponym that distinguishes our town, Castagneto Carducci. The exceptional characteristics of freshness of this vineyard surprise us with a production of the grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Teroldego, which arrive at a maturation that is always slightly delayed compared to the other vines but which then return to the taste a depth and a freshness of truly sensations. After 18 months of rest in barriques and a further long refinement we present what we believe to be the maximum expression of the Bolgheri character: strength, longevity, elegant and lively tannins and an extraordinary freshness. The picked and selected grapes are fermented in 30 hl oak barrels. The yeasts are exclusively indigenous. Only manual punching down is carried out to remix the cap and open replacements only if necessary. Great attention is given to the time of harvest, to the duration and methods of maceration to extract the most noble and elegant tannins in a balanced way. After the malolactic fermentation, naturally carried out in November, the different vinifications are assembled and the wine goes into barriques.
24 months in barriques, 30% new, 30% second and 30% third passage. 18 months in the bottle before being put on sale.
Intense and deep ruby red color with black tones. The nose opens with an elegant bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, enriched by pleasantly complex balsamic and mineral notes. On the palate it is soft, thanks to its ripe tannins. This wine gives a pleasantly persistent, refined and energetic finish.

It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least one or two hours before serving it.
Aging potential even over 20 years.
It goes perfectly with aged cheeses, poultry, red meat main courses, game.

The company was founded in 1983, the year preceding the foundation of the Bolgheri Doc which, in fact, sees me among its first protagonists. After an initial precarious period, linked to fractional rents, in 1987 I finally managed to establish the first nucleus of the company with the purchase of the best available land and the construction of the cellar. In 1991 I planted my first vineyard with the awareness of wanting to produce a wine that could be faithful to the trail traced by Sassicaia and Ornellaia, but also to my personal vision and experience as a vineyard.
