DESCRIPTION
Produced with Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it is aged for about 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels. Historic wine, produced from 1971 to 1981 as Chianti Classico Montevertine and from 1982, following our exit from the Chianti Classico Consortium, simply as Montevertine. From selected Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it ages for two years in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels.

ALCOHOLIC FERMENTATION in cement tanks for about 21 days; MALOLACTIC FERMENTATION in cement tanks.
24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and about 3 months in the bottle.
Bright ruby red. The nose reveals notes of raspberry, cherry and currant soon replaced by the spice of juniper and licorice on a background of undergrowth scents. On the palate it has an evident tannic texture and great freshness. Balanced and full-bodied.
HOW TO SERVE
17-18 ° C
It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least one or two hours before serving it.
It can be left to rest in the cellar for over 10 years if kept correctly.
Perfect to accompany cold cuts, grilled meats, pasta dishes, stews, stewed fish.
CELLAR
Montevertine is a town that has been inhabited since the 1967th century. Traces of the original construction are still visible, undoubtedly of a defensive nature, subsequently transformed into a rural home. Montevertine was bought in XNUMX by Sergio Manetti, then a steel industrialist, as a holiday home. He restored the house making it habitable and immediately planted two hectares of vineyard and set up a small cellar with the idea of producing some wine for his friends and customers. Read more
