DESCRIPTION
Petrus is one of the few Bordeaux not to have a "Chateaux" because it does not have a real establishment on the property. The soil where the vineyards are born is composed of a high percentage of clay rich in iron. The blend is mainly Merlot, but if the weather allows for an excellent ripening of the Cabernet Franc, a small percentage is added.
Pomerol
After having picked, selected and pressed the grapes, it is vinified in thermo-regulated concrete tanks.
It is aged in barrique for 18 months after which it is bottled and further refined.
Intense garnet red color. On the nose the aromas of fruit such as cherries, blackberries and raspberries are well defined. We also find hints of spices, floral aromas such as violets and vanilla notes. The taste is full-bodied, voluminous, fills the mouth with every sip where we find the fruit. Soft wine that tells a lot. Long and persistent.
HOW TO SERVE
16-18 ºC
It is recommended to let it breathe 1 hour before tasting it.
If stored in the cellar, after the vintage, it is aged for 50 years.
Ideal with French goat cheeses, grilled red and white meats.
