Bollinger
It all began with Athanase de Villermont, the youngest son of a noble family. He inherited a generous estate in the Aÿ area from his family. Athanase quickly recognized the potential in Champagne wines, but as an aristocrat he was not allowed to enter the trade. So he met the German Joseph Bollinger, who traveled a lot because of his curiosity for the Champagne wine trade, and Paul Renaudin, a Frenchman fascinated by the world of wine.
Thus it was that on February 6, 1829 the company Renaudin-Bollinger & Cie was founded. Without knowing it, they founded a champagne house that would last for centuries.
To this day, Maison Bollinger is one of the few large private champagne producers left and, for the first time in its history, it has not been run by a family member, but by Jérôme Philipon since 2008.
The Bollinger Champagne house creates prestigious champagnes with character. A character that shines with elegance and complexity. It's the endless attention to detail, because Bollinger accepts nothing less than excellence. Every detail is the sign of the pursuit of perfection.
