DESCRIPTION
Symbol of the project itself, so much so that it bears its name, Petra tells ancient stories with new words. The grapes, mainly cabernet sauvignon and merlot, are harvested on calcareous soils with the right balance between clay and skeleton. Suitable lands suitable for the cultivated varieties but above all capable of bringing out their own distinctive traits.

The production method is rigorously aimed at defending the territorial connotation. The grapes are transported in crates, the fermentation takes place naturally with indigenous yeasts and the vinification takes place in 100-hectolitre oak conical vats.
Finally the refinement of 18 months in first, second and third passage barriques, characterized by a medium and light roasting that accompanies and enhances the fruit without ever overdoing it. The aging in the bottle also lasts (18 months), before the wine leaves the cellar.
Ruby color with garnet reflections. Nose of great aromatic richness, intense and powerful in the notes of wild berries, black cherries in jam, rosemary, burnt wood, tobacco and even the balsamic flavor of mint and spice of cinnamon and pepper to wrap everything. Sumptuous taste, of body and elegance, structure and power. Velvety tannins well integrated into a fresh texture with an aristocratic savory trait. Persistent, consistent aftertaste with a spicy and balsamic finish.

It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least one or two hours before serving it.
You can cellar it for over 7 years if kept correctly.

Francesca Moretti was still a university freshman when the first vines were planted in Petra: it was she who decided, on the basis of an already clear vision, what to grow in this land suited but all to be interpreted, and the choice had favored internationals, as well as to Sangiovese and Vermentino, in a path that already then aimed at wines of maximum pleasantness and contemporaneity.
