DESCRIPTION
It is the great wine of Castello Nipozzano. The wine was born with the 1983 harvest and has since been produced in the most favorable years. In the vintages 1984, 1987, 1989, 1992, 1998 and 2002 it was not produced. With the 2013 harvest, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot vines, planted 150 years ago, are now joined by the elegance of Sangiovese and a strong link with the tradition of the territory. Mormoreto is a wine with a vibrant character, which knows how to express finesse, harmony and an admirable longevity.

Each variety is vinified and macerated separately for 35 days in stainless steel tanks at a temperature below 35 ° C (95 ° F) followed by maturation on the skins for 20 days.
24 months in split oak barriques, partly new and partly second passage. A further period of 6 months in the bottle follows.
The wine has an impenetrable intense ruby red; complex nose: red fruits such as blackberry and raspberry, there is a balance between the floral notes of bergamot and the spicy notes of bitter cocoa powder and cocoa butter, roasted coffee bean, light vanilla note, slight hint of clove, jasmine and gray tea. In the mouth it is fresh, complex, persistent, balanced, the tannins are integrated with the body of the wine which is velvety on the palate. The acid component is important and is elegantly combined with the alcoholic one. Notes of wild berries such as blackberry and raspberry, light licorice note on the peaty whiskey finish, vanilla tobacco.

18-20 ° C
It is advisable to oxygenate in a decanter for at least an hour before serving.
You can cellar it FOR MORE THAN 7 years if stored correctly.
Excellent with long-cooked meat preparations such as braised, stewed and stewed meat. Perfect with aged cheeses.
