fine wine 👑
DESCRIPTION
From the precious one hectare vineyard in the Monforte d'Alba area. Vigna Colonnello represents the union between the two souls of Barolo and celebrates the encounter between two chosen terroirs. A wine with velvety tannins and capable of expressing the finesse and elegance deriving from the Tortorian soil and the structure and power originating from the Serravallian soil.
MONFORTE D'ALBA
Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes were crushed and only 65% destemmed. The maceration, which took place in stainless steel tanks, took about 7 days at a maximum temperature of 30 ° C. The malolactic fermentation ended before the end.
The aging took place in French oak barrels of different capacities for 18 months and for 24 months in steel. The wine aged 24 months in the bottle before being released on the market.
The Vigna Colonnello has a red color with orange ruby reflections. Pleasant hints of rose petals, raspberry and pomegranate on the nose, combined with spicy and balsamic notes. On the palate it is intense, with sweet, enveloping tannins and a long and consistent aftertaste.

CELLAR
Over a century in the Langhe In 1904, in the council chamber of the municipality of Serralunga, in the presence of the Notary Giacomo Oddero and the young witness Alfredo Prunotto, the Cantina Sociale "Ai Vini delle Langhe" was founded. Among the participants in the deed of incorporation there are characters who have left their mark on the events of Alba and the municipalities of the Langhe and many small producers in the area. The first harvest is that of 1905. Difficult years follow characterized by an uncertain general economic trend, aggravated by the First World War. In 1922, when the renewal of the Social Cellar expired, many members decided not to give their grapes anymore. The vintage, while exceptional, was not abundant. The winery begins to have serious economic problems and is placed in liquidation. Read more
