DESCRIPTION
The Aglianico “Contado” Riserva is a historic wine for Di Majo Norante and for Molise. Di Majo Norante has been producing wines from its own grapes since 1800. Di Majo Norante's Aglianico del Molise Contado Riserva is born in vineyards located in Ramitello, in the heart of Molise. It is produced exclusively with Aglianico grapes,
Contrada Ramitello, Campomarino (CB)
The Contado is obtained from the vinification in purity of Aglianico grapes grown on the hills of Molise in the Camarda vineyard. Vinified in small steel fermenters with long maceration.
The wine is aged for about three years, one of which in barriques and tonneaux.
The wine has a ruby red color with garnet reflections, a broad and intense aroma with hints of ripe fruit. In the mouth soft and velvety, very harmonious with good body, rightly tannic with an aftertaste of black cherry.
HOW TO SERVE
16-18 °C (77°F)
It is advisable to let the wine 'breathe' at least fifteen to thirty minutes before serving.
You can let it rest in the cellar for 4-5 years if kept properly.
It goes well with savory foods, substantial first courses, game, meats and aged cheeses, even with vegetarian dishes such as stewed vegetables, legumes, vegetable dishes cooked in the oven such as aubergine parmigiana or vegetable soufflé.
CELLAR
Di Majo Norante has been producing wines from its own grapes since 1800, as evidenced by the cellars under the square and in the old family palace in Campomarino. The dedication to the cultivation of the vine is inherited from Alessio di Majo Norante and is planned today together with the passion for research and experimentation. Di Majo Norante produces its wines exclusively from the 123 hectares of the ancient fief of the Norante Marquises of Santa Cristina. The winemaking philosophy of the Di Majo Norante company respects the traditional approach to vine cultivation and wine production, in an attempt to preserve all the characteristics of Mediterranean blends.
