Yarden
La Yarden winery was founded in 1983 and, since its foundation, it has stood out for the production of wines of considerable quality and with a long tradition, taking into account that winemaking here has very ancient origins. The group Golan Heights Winery is based in Galilee, in the city of Katzrin, on the hills of the same name. The first vineyard was planted in 1976, while the cellar was built in 1983 by the will of four kibbutzim (collectivistic village) and as many moshavim (cooperative communities).
Golan Heights Winery immediately stood out for the production of kosher wines of great value, i.e. wines authorized by the rabbis and therefore drinkable even by Orthodox Jews. They are mostly produced on volcanic soils, strongly linked to tradition: their brands Yarden, old, Golan ed hermon they have labels depicting the oil lamp symbol of the ancient state of Israel.
YARDEN is the flagship company of the group: its name originates from the Hebrew translation of the Jordan River. The first wine produced was, in 1984, Sauvignon Blanc. GOLAN takes its name from the Golan Heights, formed by remote volcanic eruptions. Its wines are produced to satisfy young consumers, attentive to quality. The wines GAMLA they take their name from an ancient city that went down in history for trying to block the Roman advance towards Jerusalem. The wines Hermon they owe their name to the mountain massif on the border between Israel, Syria and Lebanon, whose highest peak reaches 2.814 m; they are complex and structured wines.
Thanks to the richness and uniqueness of this terroir, the wines produced in this region have a fine structure and lend themselves very well to being aged. A winery that today is a symbol of Israel and whose wines are a source of pride for this territory.
