The Cantina di Santadi was founded in 1960 by the will of a group of grape producers, coordinated by the ETFAS, that is the body for land and agricultural transformation in Sardinia, with the aim of transforming the grapes into associated forms and selling the wine. obtained. The location is in Santadi, south-western area of Sardinia, in the heart of Sulcis.
Until the 80s, the business was limited to the production and sale of bulk wine, with timid sales initiatives for bottled wine, with poor results.
In the mid-seventies, with the arrival of a new board of directors, headed by the current president Antonello Pilloni, the turning point took place.
The new management team is animated by great enthusiasm and passion and, called, as consultant, the internationally renowned oenologist Giacomo Tachis, who takes the fate of Cantina Santadi to heart, becomes attached to the territory, and with his intervention i wines from the Cantina di Santadi make a leap in quality, so much so that they are immediately accepted in the most important markets, with high quality awards and strong identity.
From then to today it has been a continuous growth, the Santadi wine brand is increasingly widespread and appreciated all over the world, whose success is certainly due to the team, i.e. the producers, administrators, salesmen, collaborators and workers. all, which represent a wealth of great professionalism for the territory.
