Punic Farm
The story of Punic Farm it began in 2002 in the locality of Barrua Santadi. The huge 170-hectare plot of land, consisting of the two Barrua and Narcao estates, was purchased following an intuition that later turned out to be visionary. James Tachis, an exceptional Tuscan winemaker, immediately understood the great potential that the Sardinian soil contained. He began to collaborate in Sardinia with the Tenuta San Guido from 1970 and from 1980 he began collaborating and consulting with the Cantina di Santadi.
From these two historical realities Agricola Punica was born, with only one final goal: to create a wine that is not only good or precious but excellent. Agricola Punica wines have easily and elegantly entered the national and international wine world. Agripunica wines have IGT denomination Isola dei Nuraghi and the vineyards are divided between native grape varieties and French varieties. For Tachis, Sardinia is a land predestined to produce excellent wines of the highest level: the ever-present sun and the influence of the sea that helps regulate and stabilize the climate are fundamental elements that contribute to the production of a fine wine from all points of view. The flagship of the Punica farm are undoubtedly the red berried grapes, native to the Lower Sulcis: their color and their structure help to create a wine with an elegant, aromatic and spicy flavor.
