The first traces of the Château d'Esclans they date back to the Roman Empire, a period in which it served as a control tower over the Gulf of Fréjus, in order to prevent any maritime invasions. Built in the 1875th century, the current château has seen a succession of owners: it was acquired by the Ranque brothers, then by Joseph Toussaint Caussemille in 1955 and by the Perraud family from 1994 (to XNUMX).
It later belonged to a Swedish pension fund prior to its acquisition by Sacha lichine in 2006. The latter, of Bordeaux origins, contributes to the reputation of the brand worldwide and to the production of luxury rosé wines with the Côtes de Provence appellation.
