Domaine de Chevalier
Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Knight's Domain figure among the greatest Cru Classé of Bordeaux . Like a secret garden, this cru is emblematic of the appellation Pessac-Léognan it is located south of Bordeaux, surrounded by greenery. Domaine, terroir, vineyard: inseparable elements that forge the identity of the Domaine de Chevalier.
The Domaine de Chevalier holds a rare vineyard of 45 hectares spread over 40 hectares of red vineyards and 5 hectares of white vineyards. “Only a great terroir can produce a great wine”, remembers Olivier Bernard, his manager.
A veritable mosaic of terroir, the Domaine de Chevalier vineyard is planted on black sands and fine white gravel resting on an ideally drained clayey gravel subsoil. In the philosophy of revealing the most beautiful expression of this exceptional terroir, the ampelographic composition of the property highlights the Cabernet Sauvignon (63%), supplemented with Merlot (30%), Petit Verdot (5%) e Cabernet Franc (2%). White grape emblematic of Bordeaux, the Sauvignon Blanc represents 70% of the area dedicated to white wines, integrated with 30% of Sémillon.
Constant attention, extremely precise parcel approach, Carthusian vinifications, the crus of Domaine de Chevalier are among the best references in the Bordeaux region year after year.
