Domaine Armand Rousseau
The Domaine was created in the early XNUMXth century by Armand Rousseau, who planted some vineyards in the municipality of Gevrey Chambertin. Following the marriage, her properties intensified and the cellar was built where it still stands today or at the foot of the church of Gevrey. From time to time Armand Rousseau acquires more prestigious plots such as Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin, Clos de La Roche.
Following Armand's death, the Domaine was managed by Charles Rousseau, who developed the sale even further and managed from time to time to appropriate some plots of Clos de Beze. In 1982 Eric, Charles' son, began working in the company, following his oenology studies and some experiences gained in other Chateau Borgognoni.
Eric starts from the vineyard to bring his new ideas. Early harvests, grassing, mechanical soil work without the use of insecticides or chemical products. The company orientation is aimed towards organic farming, but the real transformation takes place in the cellar where Eric lets the wines express themselves, without too much manipulation.
The Domaine today has 15 hectares of vineyards, Eric's daughters who have followed their oenological studies work on the farm, but no one allows themselves to lose sight of the Rousseau style: fine, elegant, honest wines.
