Baglio di Pianetto
Baglio di Pianetto has now been more than twenty years since its foundation. The stories were and are told through the harvests, with the wine, with the maturity reached in the vineyard. Always at the fore in this success story was the balance between tradition and innovation.
This harmony inevitably goes hand in hand with respect for the integrity of excellent raw materials in a framework of optimization of natural resources that these areas - different and opposing - express. A process marked by technological development, but which does not forget how the wine is born and develops in the vineyard and finally receives its finish in the cellar.
Conte Paolo Marzotto - Many years ago, a little boy (who did not yet know what or who he would become) asked his mother to buy him a bottle of wine. They were traveling to Sicily and she replied that he was still too young. But he insisted and her mother finally gave in, he waited until she was 17 to open that bottle.
But unfortunately the wine was partially evaporated and so Count Paolo Marzotto was not given the opportunity to drink this long-awaited wine. But it was this special experience that captured her imagination and his attention. With this, the count immediately began his first research to understand how wine is made.
A long and successful journey followed, through the Veneto, Tuscany, Alto Adige and Lombardy, until in 1997 he settled in Sicily, in Baglio di Pianetto, in the countryside of Palermo. Here, Count Paolo's desire to produce wines that reflect the uniqueness of a particular terroir has been harmoniously fulfilled.
