Veuve Cheurlin
A large family that runs on international markets to spread the Champagne Veuve Cheurlin brand. The history of the Cheurlin family is marked by significant dates in the long journey undertaken for more than a century.
1898: The beginning, when the young Edmond Cheurlin, just seventeen years old, proudly plants his first vines in Celles sur Ource, a small village in southern Champagne.
1930: The son Raymond expands his father's property and becomes one of the first champagne producers of the Aube, with the irrefutable title of RM, recognized to those who use only proprietary grapes for their product. 1950 - 1970: A twenty-year period that sees Andrè Cheurlin investing from year to year on the most beautiful hills of his beloved Aube.
1978: After half a century, Alain Cheurlin, Edmond's nephew and son of André, on the strength of the teachings he has received, decides to create his own winery. On the solid foundations left by his ancestors, Alain creates the “Veuve Cheurlin” brand.
Today the dominant brand. 1985: Proving himself to be a shrewd administrator and skilled entrepreneur, he absorbs the “Maison Jean Arnoult” owned by the family of his wife Chantal Sandrin. A historic house created in 1919, the first commercial born in the Aube area.
This acquisition is important for the Maison Veuve Cheurlin which thrives under the “Jean Arnoult” brand which already boasts a strong distribution network. 2009: Jean Baptiste, son of Alain, joins the company after his oenological training at the Beaune school.
A new push to modernize, to seek the best but respecting the Cheurlin tradition.
2014: Installation of a new robotic unit for bottling and packaging.
Finally, the Maison has all the facilities suitable to respond to every need of the market. A large family that runs on international markets to spread the “Veuve Cheurlin” brand.
