Poggio di Sotto
In 1989, Piero Palmucci, a great wine lover, founded the Fattoria Poggio di Sotto on the southern slopes of the Montalcino hill, an ideal terroir for the cultivation of Sangiovese. The company covers 32 hectares, 12 of which are used as vineyards and registered in the Brunello di Montalcino register, while the rest are olive groves and woods.
The wine-growing region of the Euganean Hills, protected by Monte Amiata on one side and exposed to sea winds on the other, has an ideal microclimate for grape ripening and an altitude ranging from 200 to 400 meters.
The soils of the vineyards are rich in skeleton, with a concentration of marl and clay at the bottom and conglomerates at the top. This is accompanied by an extraordinary attention to detail in agricultural management, including a ban on the use of chemicals and a cellar that combines ancient techniques with contemporary technologies, such as the rotating belt for the selection of excellent fruits.
Piero Palmucci's enthusiasm and skill have led the company to produce wines of the highest quality, such as his excellent Brunello di Montalcino, characterized by deep, rich and vibrant flavors that have earned him much popularity in Italy and around the world. abroad.
