Domaine Nudant
Domaine Nudant, located in Ladoix-Serrigny, we are in the long history of winemaking. In 1453, at the time of Charles the Bold, a Guillaume Nudant of Aloxe Corton was working the vineyard. In 1747, under the reign of Louis XV, André Nudant, born in Aloxe, worked in Ladoix. Today, Jean-René, assisted for several years by his son, is in charge of 16 hectares distributed in the Côte de Beaune and in the Côte de Nuits, with in particular parcels in the Grands Crus Corton-Charlemagne, Corton-Bressandes and Echézeaux and 4 Premiers Crus around the hill of Corton.
To express their terroirs without damaging them, Domaine Nudant practices yield control, frequent plowing and all the gestures of integrated agriculture. Speaking of fertilizers, Jean-René Nudant has a magnificent phrase. He says, with obvious simplicity, that a hectare of vineyard produces less fruit and wood than a hectare of forest, have you ever seen fertilizer put in a forest? This common sense should apply to everyone, not just winegrowers but many other land workers.
Domaine Nudant tells
A 15-hectare family estate located in Ladoix-Serrigny, near Beaune. Most of the vineyards are located on the hill of Corton. The vines are the object of all our care: grafting, integrated pest management, no weeding, frequent plowing, organic fertilization, long fermentations, temperature control, rigor and application in vinification. The wine is bottled in the property, by us, after 8 to 10 months for the whites and 12 to 18 months for the reds.
