Clos de Tart
Domaine Clos de Tart is located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, the vignoble du Clos de Tart is a unique place due to the diverse nature of the terroir. The estate is surrounded by a historic dry stone wall, as per tradition in Burgundy: this wall, witness to the identity of the winery, was completely restored in 2006.
The vineyard has an average age of around sixty years and has been converted, for some years now, to theorganic farming: Frédéric Engerer, General Manager of Artémis Domaines and Alessandro Noli, Director of the Domaine, have continued this momentum, applying biodynamic practices to the entire vineyard in order to allow the vines to express their full potential while respecting the terroir and the people who value it.
Unlike the vast majority of Côte-d'Or vineyards, Clos de Tart vineyards are historically planted with a north-south orientation perpendicular to the slope line. If the exposure of the vineyard is homogeneous, its geology is complex. The clayey-calcareous soil consists of different types of limestone that define different precisely delimited microclimates, each of which is collected separately.
