Château Yon-Figeac
Northwest of the village of Saint-Émilion, at the turn of a small road not far from the village, lies Château Yon-Figeac. This building, built in 1886, is very typical of the region: built in limestone, it is surrounded by its 24 hectares of vineyards. This surface area makes Château Yon-Figeac one of the largest properties in the appellation.
Upon entering the estate, every visitor will notice the two sculptures that stand proudly and frame the driveway leading to the Château. The result of a collaboration between artist Cécile Pitois and Château Yon-Figeac, these sculptures were designed and created specifically for the estate.
Every period of the year has its share of work in the vineyard: pruning, removal of leaves, pruning, green harvesting, tilling the soil, harvesting…
At Château Yon-Figeac, the main focus in the vineyard is the quality of the vines and grapes, so it is essential that every action is adapted to the needs and terroir. Most of the work is done by hand, which allows us to achieve a very high level of precision. The harvest is also done by hand and takes place between September and early October.
