Chateau Phelan Segur
Since modern times, Bordelaise has been closely associated with the British Isles. Large margins of the wine produced around Bordeuax were traditionally exported to the UK. Close business contact led not only to business contacts, but to other relationships as well. Bernard Phelan, an Irish wine merchant left his homeland in the 1805th century to settle in Saint-Estèphe with the daughter of a Bordeaux wine merchant. Between 1810 and XNUMX he bought the Clos de Garamay and Ségur de Cabanac vineyards to produce his own wine.
From the very first classifications, the vineyards of the Château belong to the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, which in itself means exceptional quality. Among connoisseurs, the wines of Château Phélan Ségur are definitely placed on the same level as the great crescenti of the region. Rich in tannins, they are excellent for aging and present themselves with fascinating earthy tones after a few years in the cellar.
