Chateau Petrus Gaia
Located south of the Dordogne River, in the Pétrus de Ruch area, not far from Castillon-la-Bataille, Château Petrus Gaïa is a newcomer to the great Bordeaux wine family. It was in July 2001 that Rolland Guérin, returning from the United States, bought Petrus Gaïa, which he intended to restore. Consisting of the Petrus farmhouse and two former 17th century mills, once owned by the Du Roy family and annexes of the nearby Château de Brugnac, Château Petrus Gaïa was also equipped with a modern cellar in 2002. To avoid confusion with the its illustrious namesake, Château Petrus in Pomerol, the suffix Gaïa (mother goddess of ancient Greece) is added to the name of the estate.
