Chateau La Grave
Château de la Grave is located in the Bordeaux wine region of Margaux. The castle was built in 1740, where previously there was only a small estate. The Belhade owner family was expropriated following the French Revolution. Since the beginning of the XNUMXth century, the estate has finally been owned by the Bassereau family, who today manage it. The family's goal for generations has been to make available a high quality wine at an affordable price, with its own distinctive character.
The vineyards with an area of 45 hectares are located around the castle in the Côtes de Bourg region, where wine has been grown since the XNUMXnd century. The grape variety grown is mainly Merlot, but Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Colombard and Semillon are also found. Compared to the rest of Bordeaux, it is warmer and drier here. The soils are mainly calcareous and clayey.
