Château Cantenac Brown
A true pearl of the prestigious Margaux appellation on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region, Château Cantenac Brown has progressively risen to the highest level of the wines of its appellation.
Troisième Grand Cru Classé in 1855, the superb property was acquired in 2006 by the Halabi family who knew all its splendor from this Margaux reference, advancing the quality of its crus, year after year.
First under the direction of Jean-Michel Cazes, José Sanfins then took over the reins of the estate, pursuing the Halabi family's ambition to obtain ever more refined wines.
The strength of Château Cantenac Brown lies in its exceptional terroir. The 48-hectare vineyard is spread over the famous Cantenac plateau, consisting of gravelly soils, which capture the heat of the sun during the day to better reflect it at night, ensuring optimal ripeness for the grapes.
With the greatest respect for the soil and the vine, following a reasoned struggle approach, the Château Cantenac Brown teams have been able to grasp the essence of these great terroirs, to then transcribe it into great wines with a peculiar identity, in the inimitable Margaux style.
The maintenance of techniques based on a tradition of excellence combined with the right dose of modernity allows the vines of the vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, to develop all their qualities for wines with an elegant, perfectly balanced bearing, with an intense bouquet that reveals a superb density on the palate, capable of evolving magnificently over time.
