Ruinart
La Ruinart house it is undoubtedly the oldest French maison producing Champagne: it was 1729 when Nicolas Ruinart, at the time of thirty-three, began producing champagne. Initially Nicolas was dedicated to the business of a merchant like the rest of his family and limited himself to donating his champagne to the wealthiest customers. But he soon realized that his true passion, as well as the way to follow, was to abandon the trade to devote himself body and soul to champagne.
It was in 1735 that the whole Ruinart family follows the vocation and intuition of Nicolas and is dedicated to the production of luxury champagne. The Ruinart maison has maintained the quality of a family business for many years and the best of all French Chef de Caves came out of the Ruinart cellars! At a time when some privileges were reserved for men only, the Ruinart house was an exception: from 1919 to 1925 it was a woman, Viscountess Charlotte, who carried on the family name and managed the company with diligence and intelligence. The maison was purchased in 1963 by the Moët et Chandon maison but still remains faithful to the most ancient traditions. The Ruinart champagne they undoubtedly have an edge, elements that are difficult to find in other champagnes.
